How can I remove the user photo from a profile when it's not being synchronized (anymore)?

Solution

Confluence before version 8.9 doesn't offer an option to delete the profile picture.

You therefore have different options:

• Load a dummy avatar (something that looks like the "no avatar" symbol) into Active Directory and keep the synchronization

• End the synchronization and upload the dummy avatar to the individual profile

• Use the Java API to delete the picture  Please note that this is outside of our product support. We do not guarantee that this will work and strongly recommend testing this in a test system first. If you have further questions regarding this option, Atlassian support will be able to help.
